IIMC Students to Protest, Tomorrow at 10 am, at IIMC, against the non-payment of Internship Allowance, for the One and a Half Month work done during CWG Games!
Dear all,
This is to inform you that the students of IIMC are going to protest, tomorrow, 14 January at IIMC, at 10 am to push for their demand of payment of internship allowance, for the work done during the Common Wealth Games.
At the time of the beginning of internship, the students were told by the Press Information Bureau(PIB) that they would be treated as the paid staff of the PIB, and that they would also be given an Internship Certificate, which would be helpful for them at the time of Campus Placements. The students of variopus courses of IIMC participated whole heartedly in the games, giving their services at odd hours, and working for more than 12 hours normally. Despite this, while some of the students are provided with the internship allowance, students of Hindi Journalism, and Advertisement and PR are not given their Internship Allowances till date. Apart from this, they are also not provided with the Work-Experience certificates, while the Campus Placements have formally started.
In the given situation, the students are left with no option, but to protest for their due wages and certificates.
You are kindly requested to please send the photographer at the venue of the protest, i.e. IIMC, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi, by 10 a.m., and give coverage to the said protest.
