BJP using Hindutva card to the hilt

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using the Hindutva card to the hilt to fight these elections।

After initial damage control post Varun Gandhi's hate speech, the party made him a star campaigner and now another candidate known for his communal speeches, Adityanath Yogi, will accompany the party's prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani on his campaign tour through Uttar Pradesh।

The BJP may have disowned Varun's speech, but Yogi Adtiyanath is different।

His speeches have been consistently vitriolic - sowing the seeds for communal hatred, representing the most radical of saffron forces।

Advani will kickstart his campaign in eastern UP on Saturday, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Yogi Adityanath at Kushinagar and Maharajganj।And this happens because Adityanath is very influential in seven eastern UP

Hethe powerful Gorakh Dham Peeth, a powerful religious body in the area, and for 10 years, his Hindu Yuva Vahini, a saffron sena out of the Sang Parivar fold, has been polarising votes।Yodi Adityanath has been in trouble with the law on several occasions।

He's been under the scanner for his alleged role in 2006 Mau riots. His march in Azamgarh in 2008 sparked communal tension. But the BJP dismisses both Adityanath's past and his hate speeches."That is an old speech why are we talking about it during elections," said BJP spokesperson Balbir Punj. This is the BJP's victory pledge for the polls. As we see, there is no Hindutva, perhaps it is the subtext - highlighted by leaders like Adityanath, and now Varun Gandhi.
